About Be A Madi
Be A Madi is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting and empowering our community through various programs and initiatives. Our mission is to make a positive impact and create a better future for all - while honoring Madi's spirit.
Madi's Story
Madi was a healthy, active, teenage girl who loved sports, animals, and nature. She passed unexpectedly on 1/26/24 after a short illness and complications from a pulmonary embolism. We could never have imagined life without her in it, and the last year has been hard to say the least. Everyone who knew Madi, loved her spunky personality and her protective heart. 13 years on Earth just wasn't enough time with her. Madi's sassy spirit is so missed, and the joy she brought to all that knew her is something we can never replace. Our hope is to bring joy in her honor, to keep her sparkle alive.

- Join us On May 17th for the 2nd Annual Strides for Second Chances - Hosted by Life Source. A walk to honor organ donors and celebrate the gift of life!
- Join us for our 1st Be A Madi Day on 1/25/25 at Dunmires on the Lakes in Brainerd, MN. - Our first event was a HUGE success. Thank you to all of you who helped make this happen!
Our Impact
Thanks to the support of our community, family, friends, and strangers we have been able to move forward with our dream of Be A Madi.
Here's just a few things happening:
- A ski lift in memory of Madi is located at Mount Ski Gull in Nisswa, MN.
- Memorial bench on Hole in The Day Lake - 22549 Camp Lincoln Rd., Nisswa MN 56468
- A college scholarship has been created at Brainerd Public School Foundations in honor of Madi's memory.
* 2025 recipient Josie carries on Madi's spirit by also playing on an adult softball league.
* 2024 recipient Elsa carries on Madi's memory while playing college softball.

Empower Be A Madi
Madi has donated tissues to 21 people! Two ligament recipients have repaired their ACL's. Both of Madi's corneas were donated and transplanted. We believe she lives on through these donations. Make a difference - be a donor!
